After Hours and Weekend Access to Gated Parking

Parking gates remain down at all times. Graduate and professional students have several options for accessing gated areas on campus. The following lots are available during the hours listed depending upon the graduate student's parking permit status.

University permits provide graduate students access via DukeCard to the lots above from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. weekdays and throughout weekends.

Evening permits are an option for parking between 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. weekdays and throughout weekends. Permits cost $45 annually and are sold to commuting students. Individuals are assigned to a primary lot with 3:00 p.m. access and can also enter any of the lots above after 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

Without a parking permit, graduate and professional students can enter the lots above by using the DukeCard from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. weekdays, and on weekends.

Science/Physics Lot access is available to Math and Physics graduate students. Eligible names are provided to PTS by these departments for DukeCard activation.

Holiday Parking Access

Parking spaces may be available in certain lots during some University employee holidays. See them listed here.


Parking During Special Events

Individuals with valid Duke permits may park free in areas designated for general event parking. Some lots may not be available during events. This information will be posted on the Alerts! page of this website, and permit holders will be notified in advance of impacts to their lots or zones.

Keeping Current with Parking and Transportation News

At any time throughout the year individuals may sign up for the PTS listerv. This listserv is used to send notifications of parking and transit changes whenever PTS is aware of impacts to the system due to events or construction.
