Instructions for Home Football Games

Notifications:
Permit holders must move all vehicles from the Blue Zone prior to large events in Wallace Wade Stadium, primarily football games. Signs are posted at the Blue Zone and reminder emails are sent the week of each event.

Parking Alternatives:
Please park your vehicle at the Zone H lot, on the corner of Anderson and Yearby, or Parking Garage I (PGI), at the intersection of Flowers Drive and Yearby. At PGI, fill the top level first, and work your way down. If you exit the garage between 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Friday evening, present your DukeCard to the attendant and sign the ticket in order to receive free parking. You must move your car out of PG1 and H lot before 2 p.m. Sunday.

Transit Services:
For your convenience, continuous shuttle service is provided every 10 minutes from the H lot and PGI to the West Campus bus stop prior to the time the lot must be emptied (as indicated on the chart above). Shuttle service will also be provided from the West Campus bus stop to the H lot and PGI for three hours after the end of the game. Additionally, the East-West-Central bus passes Anderson/Yearby and Yearby/Trent Drive for convenient access. As always, keep Safe Rides (684-SAFE) in mind if you require transportation back to your residence hall.

Unavailable Lots:
Vehicles may not be moved to other West Campus locations including Card Gym, Allen, Public Policy, PG4 and Bryan Center lot, Science Drive Visitor Lot, Gross Chemistry, or Physics as these lots are designated for football and special event parking.

Sanctions:

After 6:00 a.m. on game days, cars remaining in the Blue Zone will be issued a $100 fine. Any vehicles remaining in the first three lots on the Wallace Wade Stadium side of the Blue Zone will also be towed.
A second violation will result in suspended parking privileges for one year.

Our Thanks:
As we work together to best utilize our limited parking resources, we are counting on your support and school spirit to help make home football games successful. We appreciate your cooperation!

Detailed GPSC Campout Information

The annual graduate student campout for basketball tickets begins at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 28, and concludes at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 30. During the weekend, the grass field and last two paved lots on the Wallace Wade Stadium side of the Blue Zone will be used for camping. Cars remaining in these areas after 12:00 noon Friday will be towed. Please note this impacts only the last two lots on the right…you may continue to park in the other Blue Zone paved lots.

Fewer cars will be impacted than a football game and a different parking location is targeted for your use that weekend. Please move your cars to the Green Zone spaces along Bassett Drive and in the Grounds lot at the end of Bassett Drive. Duke Police will focus security efforts at those locations over the weekend.

Please contact Parking Services at (919) 684-7275 if you have questions regarding Blue Zone parking regulations.
