Guidelines for Riding Duke Transit
- Arrive five (5) minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
- Board the bus through the FRONT door only.
- Get on and off the bus at recognized bus stops.
- Stand behind the white or yellow lines marked on the floor and hold onto hand bars.
- Never stand on the steps or lean against the doors while the bus is in motion.
- Always cross the street behind the bus.
- Food and drinks may be carried in sealed containers, but not consumed while on the bus.
- Do not smoke, yell, play loud music, or behave in a disorderly manner while on the bus.
- Bicycles, large packages, pet or animals are prohibitted on buses. Service animals, such as seeing eye dogs, are allowed.
- Remove all of your belongings, including litter, when exiting the bus.
- Never park a vehicle at a designated bus stop and never pass a stopped or moving campus bus.
