Transportation Services

Free and accessible transit service is provided throughout the campus for all Duke students, employees, visitors, and patients.

Transit service is complemented by Duke SAFERides and Medical Center van service for direct shuttle service outside regular transit routes and schedules.

Duke SAFERides provides free on-demand van service to many campus locations.

Medical Center van service offers free transportation to all Duke employees for trips between Duke Medical Center properties only.

Charlene’s Taxi service charges to provide transportation to and from areas outside Duke SAFERides boundary.

For the safety, convenience, and enjoyment of others using Duke Transit Services, patrons are asked to abide by these general guidelines.

During periods of severe weather when roads become impassible transit services may be temporarily suspended. Timely information is posted at the Alerts! tab.
